October Events

Once again, autumn is here, and with the changing leaves and suddenly too-frigid temperatures the Bolo Tie Collective is gearing up for the new academic year. And that means events and happenings for the month of October.

Early October: Volume IV Call for Submissions

Submissions are now open for the next volume of our anthology. Check out our Call for Submissions page for all the info, but in short, we’re looking for short fiction, flash fiction, creative non-fiction, and poetry. Submissions will close at midnight-ish on Friday, January 4, 2019.

Oct. 3: Fall Bake Sale

10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

MacEwan University, Building 6

Okay, yes, this has already happened. Yesterday, to be precise. But just so’s you know, we had another successful bake sale, raising money aplenty for our upcoming book launch and next year’s Volume IV.

Oct. 18: Volume III Book Launch

6 to 9 p.m.

MacEwan University, Allard Hall, Feigel Conference Centre

The newly opened Feigel Conference Centre will provide the razzmatazz as we celebrate the launch of Volume III. Appetizers and a cash bar will be provided, as well as copies of each volume for sale. There might even be a slide show and music.

Tickets are free at eventbrite.

Oct. 24: October Workshop

6 to 8 p.m.

MacEwan University, Room 7-267

Our second workshop of the new year will happening just in time for Halloween. Yeah, there’s probably going to be a spooky theme. Bring your pen and paper and hang out with us a bit.

More events may be added in the coming weeks, so do check back now and again. Later!
