As seasons are changing and the year is ending, many people are thinking about how they’ve changed over the last 12 months. This weekend’s writing prompt is all about rebirth, literally and metaphorically.

Poetry: Think about the phoenix and how it burns itself on a pile of debris then is reborn from the ashes. Write a poem about the life cycle of the phoenix. 

Creative non-fiction: Think back to a time when you or someone you know went through a significant change. How did your character start anew? Was it a complete (metaphorical) rebirth, or did only parts of the character’s life change so much?

Fiction: Write about a character, animal or human, who is reborn as something completely different.
