Position Details:

To apply, email us at bolotiesubmissions@gmail.com telling us which editing position(s) you are interested in applying for. Once we have received your email, we will send you an Editor Application Package. You will need to complete this package and return it to us by 11:59PM Sunday, November 26.

Editing Positions:

Substantive Editor: As a substantive editor, you will be partnered with another editor to create a team of two. Your team will work with each of your assigned authors and develop substantive elements of their stories such as character, setting, plot, structure, voice, point of view, etc. The working period for this position is January through April.

Technical Editor: As a technical editor, you will be working with the final drafts of short stories and poetry that will be published in Volume III. At this stage, you will focus on mechanical elements such as spelling, grammar, punctuation and format. You will also apply The Bolo Tie Collective Style Guide to the final copy. The working period for this position is April through June.             

Poetry Editor: As a poetry editor, you will be partnered with another poetry editor and together your team of two will work with each of your assigned poets. Your goal is to aid each poet in recognizing and correcting inconsistencies, grammatical errors, punctuation missteps, formatting issues, and most importantly, overall topics, emotions, and goals, within their poem. The working period for this position is January through April.
